Multiple Oscar-gasm

If Daniel Day-Lewis wins his third Oscar this year, he will join an elite group of actors in Oscar History.  Day-Lewis would become only the sixth actor to win three Oscars.  What would make Day-Lewis's achievement even more remarkable would be his age at his third win.  Jack Nicholson, Katharyn Hepburn, Meryl Streep and Ingrid Bergman were all in their early-60's when they won their third Oscars; Day-Lewis would only be 55.

(Daniel Day-Lewis winning Oscar in 2008;
Walter Brennan with Fay Bainter, both winners in 1939)

Only Walter Brennan was younger than 55 years of age when he won his third Oscar at age 47.  And, of course, for the record, Katharyn Hepburn remains the only actor to win four Oscars.
