Whatever Happened To... ?

Whatever happened to actor Brandon Routh? He won the Hollywood lottery when he landed the role of Superman in the 2006 movie, "Superman Returns". Usually, a movie with that much La La Land fairy dust sprinkled over it makes huge stars out of its actors. It worked in the 1970's for Christopher Reeve. But in Brandon Routh's case, the Superman role was almost a jinx. He's made other movies since donning the blue bodysuit, "Zack and Miri Make a Porno", 2008, and "Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World", 2010, but for the most part, he's almost completely disappeared from the silver screen. Luckily, he's had a recurring role on NBC's "Chuck", or we would have had to start turning over rocks to find the guy.

To add insult to injury, Zack Snyder, ("300", "Dawn of the Dead"), has all but been given the job of the director for the new Superman movie, and he's stated that it isn't likely that Brandon Routh will be asked to reprise his role. Ouch.
