More Peter Proud?

We posted earlier today about the death of actor Michael Sarrazin who starred in the 1975 horror movie, "The Reincarnation of Peter Proud". And one thought leads to another; we started thinking about the old "Peter Proud" movie. If you were around at the time, one of the things you'll surely remember about the movie was its poster which featured a naked, very muscular man, screaming in agony, which was more than enough to catch our attention at the time. Anyway, the naked actor wasn't Michael Sarrazin, instead it was an actor named Tony Stephano.

Stephano was a New York male model in the 1970's who was repped by the very prestigious modeling agency, The Zoli Agency. He only made one other movie
besides "Proud", the original "Tron" movie in 1982, which starred Oscar winner Jeff Bridges and was remade last year, again starring Jeff Bridges.

Although Stephano's career as a movie actor was short-lived, he did manage to have a very successful career as a model, but acting and modeling weren't his only contributions to pop culture. He also went on to pose in Foxylady Magazine, a clone of Playgirl Magazine, in 1975. Ahhh, the 1970's, we loved you, and we miss you!

There's a rumor that David Fincher, who just directed "The Social Network", is going to direct a remake of "The Reincarnation of Peter Proud", but we've been unable to determine if that rumor is true.

Below are stills of Tony Stephano from the movies "Tron" and "The Reincarnation of Peter Proud", and if you'd like to see him in all his male model, NSFW glory in Foxylady Magazine, click here.
