.Last year on this date, we wished Oscar winner Liza Minelli a happy 64th birthday, and mentioned that if she could only make it one more year, she'd make it to Social Security. Well, she made it. Today, Liza with a Z turns 65. Congrats!
.Only what a difference a year makes. Just as Liza and millions of other seniors finally make it to Easy Street, if the Republicans have their way, there won't be any more Social Security left to collect. But hey, as the Repubs keep tellings us, we all have to make "shared sacrifices", and it looks like its up to all of us to give a little to make sure the oil companies and wall street banks continue to make their record profits. Happy birthday, Liza!
