And as it turns out, Neve Campbell was not the first actor offered the role of Sidney Prescott. The producers wanted Drew Barrymore, but scheduling conflicts prevented her from taking the starring role, and it was she who suggested she take the smaller, less time-consuming role of Casey Becker. Reese Witherspoon and Brittany Murphy were also considered for Sidney, but it was ultimately Neve Campbell who landed the famous role.
