The gossips rags and blogs are abuzz with the story of Kim Kardashian and her new boyfriend, Portuguese football (soccer) player, Christiano Ronaldo. Who knows, at the very moment that we're writing this, if Kim and Christiano are still dating, or ever were, for that matter, and ultimately, does anyone really care? We don't.

No, the thing that makes this story interesting to us is how differently the straight and gay media types tell the story. The straight gossip rags seem to depend on lonely, sex-starved young women who see the world according to some sort of warped romantic fantasy idea of what life between men and women should be like. And to those
women, Christiano is a "womanizer who enjoys prostitutes and sex orgies". Oh my, to them Kim Kardashian is a virginal princess whose innocence must be protected and preseved. Really? Good god, maybe we should stop reading "Cinderella" and "Sleeping Beauty" to our young daughters..
On the other hand, to the gay media, all those writers care about is how hot Christiano is. And he is hot, by the way.

What we're wondering is how long it will be for one of the straight magazines to ask if Christiano is gay because he wears short swimsuits instead of those long, knee-length clown pants their backwoods straight boyfriends are still wearing. You just know that's coming.
